Message from Jim Petruzzi
Hi All,
Many thanks for those who made the call last night. It was good to see the Circle active
through a sharing call once again. Quentyn's voice and spirit added a new presence to the
Tribe. Welcome brother. And it was just as good to hear Brook's voice again.
Our focus on the Medicine Wheel was grounding and enlightening to me. Always something
new to learn or consider. And apply to our lives. There are as many Medicine Wheels as there
are those to teach it. This was a favorite saying of Little Thunder - one of my teachers. And
yet the oneness of all things and the sacred process of the circle are instilled in each. Even
when two learn from the same people (as Jim Francek and I have with the Lakota) the
teachings and ceremony vary.
Below is a quote that came to me via email this morning. How fitting to our call.
'The symbol of wholeness, represented by the medicine wheel, is still being used in
D/Lakota ceremonies today. The center where the 'X' crosses is considered the
home of Tunkasila, Wakan-Tanka, God. I speculated, `If this is the symbol of
wholeness, the symbol of the psyche, with Wakan-Tanka at the center, then
Wakan-Tanka or God would be within you.''
--Dr. A.C. Ross (Ehanamani), LAKOTA

a Circle of two-leggeds.
Have a peaceful week.
